Bras and tank tops for post-mastectomy / reconstruction

Unlike some other people I've talked to, my plastic surgeon asked me NOT to wear a bra as I was recovering from reconstruction. I had expanders placed prepectorally (over the muscles), and I'm about a C cup before and after. I'm not sure why some surgeons recommend bras and some do not...

While I was recovering, I wore these Nikibiki tank tops I got from Amazon. Bonus - they are made in the USA! I liked how soft they were, and seamless.

A couple of months after surgery, I felt like I could use a little extra support. And, going into warmer weather, I'd rather be wearing a lightweight bra than a tank.

None of my previous bras were comfortable or fit right except a bralette I had from Wacoal. I decided to order more and they are great! I also tried another style. Here's what I ordered:

Halo Lace Wire Free Bra                    Lace Kiss Bralette

I love both of them! I recommend getting the matching underwear too.

None of these links are sponsored, just like the products.

First round of Xeloda

I've been on Capecitabine (aka Xeloda) for almost 2 weeks now. It's a pill that you take for 14 days, then skip 7 days. Traditionally I think it was used to treat Stage 4 breast cancer, but a clinical trial showed that it improved survival in triple negative patients, "particularly in patients with residual disease following neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment." That's me! Though I had a bit of HER2+, my residual cells were mostly triple negative. I'm also doing Herceptin every 3 weeks.

I know it's really early, and side effects add up, but so far I am not feeling many side effects. I had a couple of aches the first weeks when I was laying in bed at night, but I noticed it happened more on days I was not very active. So I've been trying to work out at least 5 days a week (20-30 minute intense exercise bike workout) and get a good walk or two in every day.
