I had to skip my second and third weeks of Taxol due to low blood counts, but luckily I only have to make up one of those weeks.
I was so excited to have EXCELLENT bloodwork the following two weeks! Like, bloodwork that would be normal for someone who wasn't doing chemo. I was so discouraged after two straight weeks of bad counts that I was ready to throw a party. 🎉
So, now weeks 4 and 5 are done. I continued to freeze my hands and feet for those two sessions. I'm still so lucky to have few side effects from the Taxol, Herceptin, and Perjeta. I'm not sleeping well, I think due to the steroids, but it seems to get better a few days after chemo. The skin on my fingertips is also starting to split on a couple, so I'll make sure to moisturize. But no nausea, bowel issues, etc. that I was warned about, so YAY!
I now feel like I can get through this. Hopefully the good counts keep up. I'm also seeing some little hair growth, though I've lost most of my eyebrows.
